ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Placements Sports is a donation matching program set up by SPORTSQUÉBEC to encourage individuals, corporations and foundations to support Québec sports federations.

Placements Sports & Loisirs donates an additional amount for every donation made thereby substantially increasing the funding received through the program. Contributors receive an official receipt for income tax purposes for the value of the donation, which is valid in Québec and Canada. Donations must meet several criteria as set out by SPORTSQUÉBEC.

How it all Works

For each donation received by DanseSport Québec, the Placements Sports program will donate an additional amount corresponding to 4% of the original donation. For example, for a $100 donation, DanseSport Québec will receive a total of $600, or $100 + (500%* $100).

When you donate through the program, Placements Sports & Loisirs substantially increases your donation. Plus, a receipt is issued for the value of your donation. Any donation worth $25 or more from an individual, private corporation or foundation can be made to Placements Sports. Contributors receive an official income tax receipt, which is valid in Québec and Canada.

Where Does Your Donation go?

The campaign’s goal is to raise $30 000 in donations (including the matched amounts received) in just over three years, i.e. from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026. The funds raised every year will be invested in projects that will benefit the community as a whole across the province. In addition, they will also ensure the sustainability of the federation since 20% of the total amount of donations and matched amounts ($6,000) will be placed in an endowment fund (this amount will be set aside for the next 10 years). After an important analysis of its needs, the federation has decided to prioritize three major projects:

SCHOOL PROGRAM “SO… WE DANCE?”

“So… WE DANCE?” is an introductory program for young people who can find out about it through open-house days and extracurricular activities hosted at existing studios. The main objective of the program is to raise awareness of dancesport and the physical and behavioural benefits it offers to school children.
